Choose an API
Choose the interface for the job you need to do. Each reference includes authentication requirements and request examples.
Choose an interface
| If you need to… | Start here |
|---|---|
| Let an AI assistant read or change AXO configuration | MCP server and tool catalog |
| Read profiles or custom segment membership from your backend | REST API (Pulse v1) |
| Identify a visitor, report an event, or update cart state in the browser | Tag JavaScript API |
| Send server-side events or receive signed event deliveries | Ingestion and webhooks |
Make your first request
- Open the reference for your interface and read its authentication section. A public site ID, MCP token, and Pulse key serve different purposes.
- Create a credential with the scopes your task needs. Keep private credentials on your server.
- Copy the smallest example and replace its placeholders with values from your account.
- Check the response and error handling before building a larger workflow. For content changes, inspect the saved status and preview the result.
If a request fails
Check the base URL, credential type, site access, and required scope in the selected reference. Record the endpoint, HTTP status, and response body when asking for help; remove tokens and visitor information. Start with the authentication overview if you are unsure which credential applies.
