Configure privacy and consent
Use Consent to control visitor choices and data collection. Configure it before installing the tag or enabling new destinations, using the requirements your organization has established for the site.
Configure consent
- Open Consent for the intended site. With no banner configured, AXO allows tracking by default; review that behavior before launch.
- For AXO's banner, enable Built-in Consent Banner. Choose the Default Consent Mode, then edit the banner text, buttons, position, and Privacy Policy URL.
- If you already use a consent management platform, choose it under External CMP Integration and install the supplied integration snippet. Selecting an external platform disables the built-in banner.
- Review Tiered Data Collection and Google Consent Mode v2 if applicable. Click Save changes.
- Verify acceptance, refusal, and withdrawal in a controlled environment. Inspect the resulting requests and storage behavior, including connected destinations.
Review related controls
Passive Pilot Mode blocks identity, lead-form, and CRM-sync writes while anonymous behavioral tracking continues. It is not a switch that disables all telemetry.
Company Network Contribution controls contribution to AXO's shared company-network dataset and is off by default. Read its description before enabling it. Email Opt-in Forms identifies forms that collect email marketing opt-in.
Review sensitive-data forwarding
Where enabled, HIPAA Privacy Shield provides scrubbing rules, destination status, Preview scrub, and an audit log. Preview the relevant URL patterns and review the destinations before relying on a rule.
Regional templates and scrubbing controls configure product behavior; they do not establish legal compliance. AXO is not currently a BAA-eligible vendor. Review sensitive-data use with the people responsible for your organization's privacy requirements.
If collection continues unexpectedly, check the saved consent mode, integration snippet order, and other tags installed on the page. Next: review connected services.
